Pretty mineral on the nose with crushed stones, dried oranges and red cherries. Tight and pure, with a dollop of fine-grained tannins that uphold the center palate before a long and structured finish. Drink or hold.

The 2017 Barolo is definitely more austere and rooted in black fruit and spice compared to the 2018 Barbaresco that was so focused on cherry fruit. This wine is broader, more fleshed out and shows greater fruit weight. The wine is etched and firm to the palate, with clipped edges that denote young, hot-vintage tannins.

A really ripe and savory Barolo showing new leather, tobacco and earthy savoriness to the tarry, dried berries and hints of toffee and bark. Juicy and full-bodied with tight, creamy tannins and a long, grippy finish. Tasty now. A Barolo for those who’d love some richness.

Here's a darkly saturated and rich Barolo that opens to impressive intensity and depth. The Giribaldi 2014 Barolo offers a wide and large aromatic presentation with dark fruit, forest floor and black truffle. This wine ages in tonneaux for 30 months, and those oak tannins add a lot to the structure and the texture of this full-bodied Barolo. Some 14,000 bottles were made. Mario Giribaldi has done a very nice job in 2014.
