The 2018 Cairanne Carius is 65% Grenache, 25% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre, aged in concrete. It's a bit lighter-bodied than many Cairanne wines, being only medium-bodied, with lively cherry and strawberry flavors accented by hints of mint and cracked pepper.

The full-bodied 2017 Cairanne Carius is creamy and supple, maybe a bit warm, but lush and fruit-forward. Hints of green herbs accent black cherries on the nose, and the wine turns spicy and peppery on the long finish. Drink it over the next 3-4 years.

The charming, supple and forward 2015 Cairanne Carius is another rock-solid wine from this negociant. Medium-bodied, forward and ready to go, with lots of black cherry and currant fruits, fine tannin and a good finish, drink it over the coming 4-5 years.

The 2014 C?tes du Rh?ne Villages Cairanne Carius is an easy going, deliciously ripe and forward southern Rhone that offer lots of fruit and spice, a mouth-filling texture and a clean finish. It’s another hard to resist charmer to drink over the coming couple of years.

A step up over the 2014, the 2013 Cairanne Carius is another medium-bodied, sexy, fruit-forward effort from this estate that has classic dark fruits, licorice, roasted herbs and a touch of chocolate on the nose. These are all terrific value and over-deliver on the fruit and texture side of the equation.
