Deep garnet-brick colored, the 2006 Shiraz offers an evolved, nutty, gamey nose with notes of smoked bacon, mulberries, blackberry preserves, figs and Chinese five spice. Full-bodied and with a good amount of mature fruit in the mouth, it reveals some powdery tannins, enlivening acid and a long finish. Delicious now, it should hold for another 2-3 years.
