Showing orchard fruit, apricot, cantaloupe melon and grapefruit, the I Capitani 2021 Greco di Tufo Serum gives you a lot of the intensity and elegant minerality that you can expect from this popular category of white wine from Campania. In this case, the vines are planted at high elevations of 600 meters above sea level on silty clay soils with tuff rock (or compressed volcanic ash).

Here's a snappy Greco di Tufo to pair with some fried calamari on a summer day. The 2019 Greco di Tufo Serum from I Capitani is a nice, tonic and fresh expression that shows more definition than the other whites in this groupage. Some 15,000 bottles were produced.

This wine opens to a strange bouquet with aromas that feel out of context. The 2018 Greco di Tufo Serum shows a very sweet or candied side with butterscotch and lemon drop at the back of white peach and citrus. There's even a touch of spearmint or green olive at the back. It's all a bit odd and random. Some 10,000 bottles were made.

Cherry pit, ground ginger and orchard blossom notes are layered with white cherry, dried herb and grapefruit sorbet flavors in this light-bodied white. A bit of an outlier stylistically for the grape, this is a high-toned and floral version, with a lightly chalky finish.
