All from Bien Nacido, the 2012 Viognier has a soft, sweetly fruited profile with fresh lemon, white peach and hints of flowers and apricot flowing to a quaffable (in the best sense of the word) palate that-s hard to resist. Drink it over the coming year or so. Drink now-2014.

Another great Viognier from Jaffurs continuing the winery’s string of successful releases. As in the past, it’s ultra rich in tropical fruit, peach, butter cream, vanilla, honeysuckle and cinnamon spice flavors, yet for all the richness, it finishes dry and minerally. Seems a little more acidic than in the past, which is a good, balancing thing.

The 2010 Viognier is gorgeous. Rich, lush and inviting, it offers up attractive scents of orange marmalade, honeysuckle, apricots, white flowers and mint. Sweet perfumed notes linger on the beautifully balanced finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2014.

Jaffurs 2010 Viognier (Santa Barbara County). A lovely wine, off-dry to moderately sweet, with tropical fruit, honeysuckle and vanilla flavors, accented with a roasted almond, granola toastiness. Once you accept that it’s not really dry, it’s easy to fall in love with this Viognier, most of which comes from Bien Nacido Vineyard.
