Aromas of pastry cream, fresh green apples, white currant and a subtle touch of smoky new oak introduce the 2017 Pernand-Vergelesses Les Belles Filles, a medium to full-bodied, fleshy wine that's pure and long on the finish, but a little shut down by its recent bottling. Expect it to shine with even just a few months' bottle age.

Jean-Michel Chartron's 2015 Pernand-Vergelesses Les Belles Filles is lovely, offering up an elegant bouquet of fresh stone fruit, flowers and almond cream. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, glossy and generous, with juicy acids and nice focus on the finish. Drink it over the next five to six years.

The 2014 Pernand-Vergelesses Les Belles Filles already has quite an endearing bouquet with white peach and nectarine aromas that gently "balloon" from the glass. The palate is fresh and vibrant with dried honey and citrus notes, good mineralité and the 25% new oak rounding out but not dominating the finish. This is worth checking out.
