Kangarilla Road makes outstanding white wines beginning with the 2006 Viognier. Fifty percent of the wine was fermented in new French oak and remained in barrel with occasional batonnage. Medium straw-colored with green highlights, it has an alluring perfume of butterscotch, honey, white peach, orange blossom, and a hint of apricot in the background. Quite full bodied and smooth-textured, it offers layers of citrus and pit fruit flavors balanced by lively acidity leading to a long, fruit-filled finish. It is a sensational value meant for immediate gratification. Kangarilla Road, over the past several vintages, has established a track record of turning out high-quality South Australian wines at consumerfriendlyprices.
