The 2006 Chardonnay (Bravdo) is bright, fresh and elegant, and has a respectable finish. There is a touch of vanilla on the wine, but also nice fruit. It is on the lighter side in the mid-palate, but never seems hollow. Its brightness and youth give it some bite and liveliness, too. Drink now-2009. The formal name notwithstanding, be aware that the label has BRAVDO in big letters, a reference to professor of viticulture, Ben Ami Bravdo, who acts as co-winemaker and co-owner with a former student, Oded Shoseyov, whose family has grown grapes for over a century.
