The 2017 Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses is one of the pinnacles of the portfolio at La Chablisienne, opening in the glass with aromas of orange blossom, oyster shell and iodine that are beautifully distinctive and ethereal. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, saline and three-dimensional, with a racy spine of acidity, excellent concentration and a searingly saline finish.

The 2016 Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses is lovely, offering up notes of orange blossom, mandarin oil and salty oystershells. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, stony and tensile, with good cut and a saline finish. It's a classic, mineral Les Preuses that should drink well for a decade.

The 2015 Chablis Grand Cru les Preuses comes from 30-year-old vines and spent 20 months on the fine less in stainless steel and oak barrel. It has a gorgeous bouquet, with vibrant apple blossom and granite scents that are precise and intense. The palate is well defined with neatly integrated oak, the acidity very well judged and the second half delivering a very harmonious, lightly spiced, almost Asian-inspired finish. There is plenty of character in this les Preuses, and it comes highly recommended.

The 2014 Chablis Grand Cru les Preuses has a refined bouquet with saline, estuarine scents (seaweed and cockles) permeating through the citrus fruit. The palate is fresh and vibrant with a crisp line of acidity. I like the tension here, a strict and precise Les Preuses clearly built for long term ageing, which will be no problem thanks to the energy locked in here. This is a well-made Les Preuses from La Chablisienne.

The 2013 Chablis Grand Cru les Preuses has a rather smudged bouquet that does not really articulate the terroir of Les Preuses. The palate is medium-bodied and nicely balanced, the acidity just a little low although there is commendable harmony on the finish. There is an easy-drinking aspect to this Grand Cru that slips down the throat with ease, without tackling the intellect.
