The 2010 Pinot Noir Kanzler bursts from the glass with super-ripe red fruit, pomegranate, cola, flowers and spices. A juicy, forward Pinot, the 2010 Kanzler appears to be best suited for near-term drinking. At times, the alcohol is a bit too prominent for the wine's overall structure. The 2009 Pinot Noir Kanzler Vineyard is layered with sweet dark red cherries, flowers, licorice and spices. It shows lovely depth and roundness. The fruit takes on darker shades of expression on the mid-palate, turning quite serious and brooding on the finish. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2016. I have been a big fan of the Landmark wines since visiting the winery nearly a decade ago. The Chardonnays in particular remain some of the most fairly priced Chardonnays in California. Tel. From a well-known Pinot Noir vineyard, the medium ruby-hued, spicy, earthy 2007 Pinot Noir Kanzler reveals sweet black cherry notes without the foresty undertones. This plump, fruit-forward, generous, pleasant wine is best consumed over the next several years.
