A blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot, 7% Malbec and 1% Petit Verdot, the 2017 Proprietor's Cuvee opens with a generous, deep frame with broad shoulders and a juicy essence. The wine offers aromas of blackberry reduction, Chambord, spiced plum pie and bitter dark chocolate, with hints of vanilla bean and brown baking spices. Full-bodied, bold, rich and round, the wine displays a weighty mid-palate with succulent tight tannins that will loosen with additional bottle aging. The Proprietor’s Cuvee also captures the best integration between oak and wine of the range and delivers a long, winding finish that ends with lingering spice. It’s delicious and food-friendly. Bravo!

A blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc, 17% Merlot and 8% Petit Verdot, the 2015 Proprietor's Cuvee opens as a structured and layered wine with dusty dark fruit on the nose that is elegant and rich, with soft red and purple flowers, dried herbs and juicy plum. Full-bodied on the palate, the wine is ripe and balanced, with the fruit lending great structure and quality, the tannins well-managed and prepared for longevity. The wine ends with a long finish with subtle spice notes that are texturally pleasing. Only 500 cases made.

A gorgeous 2013 is the 2013 Proprietor's Cuvee. Made from 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Petit Verdot, 13% Merlot and the balance Malbec, it has classic blackcurrants, black raspberries, toasted spices and licorice aromatics, medium to full-bodied richness and a great finish. It's beautiful today, yet like the Red Mountain cuvee, is going to keep for 10-15 years.

The 2012 Proprietor’s Cuvee is jaw-dropping good stuff. Made from 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and the rest Petit Verdot that spent 26 months in barrel. Perfectly balanced and elegant, with full-bodied richness and depth in its crème de cassis, toasted bread, crushed flowers and integrated oak, this beauty has layers of sweet tannin, sensational purity and a killer finish. Count me a fan. Give bottles 2-3 years in the cellar and enjoy through 2027.

Another solid 2011 from this estate, the 2011 Proprietor’s Cuvee is made from 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot and the balance Petit Verdot, that spent 20 months in 50% new French oak. Medium-bodied, clean, focused and moderately concentrated, it offers up pretty black fruits, graphite, licorice and scorched earth aromas and flavors. Turning tannic on the finish, it will be interesting to see how this develops with an additional year or two in bottle, as it just might have more structure than fruit. The safe bet is to drink over the coming 5-6 years. Possessing a tasting room in Woodinville, these rock-solid efforts are made by Kit Singh. He excels both with his reds and whites. Tel.
