Fragrant black cherry and black raspberry, oak in background, touch of balsamic, lots of fruit.

The 2007 PZ Malbec was sourced from 50-year-old vines and spent 12 months in new French oak. Dark ruby-colored, it has an attractive bouquet of sandalwood, Asian spices, violets, and black cherry. However, on the palate it comes off as tightly wound and compact. The 2007 Malbec spent 12 months in 50% new and 50% second use French oak. Crimson-colored, the nose reveals cigar box, cinnamon, violets, and black cherry. Medium-bodied, on the palate the wine is compressed and a bit short in the finish.
