The 2006 Pinot Noir Riserva Baragazza shows lovely focus and nuance in its dark red cherries, minerals, mint, spices and licorice. I would prefer to drink the 2006 over the next few years, while the wine retains its focus and energy. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2015.
These four wines from Pancrazi are all attractive. I don’t see as wide a qualitative gap between the entry-level wines and top bottlings as the price differences suggest there should be.
