The 2006 Langhe Rosso di Martina is a blend of 40% Barbera, 40% Merlot, 10% Nebbiolo and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. It is a delicious, beautifully-balanced red loaded with fruit. This generous wine offers excellent balance at this level, but to be honest, these Piedmont blends have never done much for me. Understandably, other tasters may disagree. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2014.
Mauro Molino is another of the La Morra growers who produce accessible wines that also happen to be well-priced.
