The 2007 Albarossa Montald is a dark, powerful wine packed with black cherries, smoke, wild herbs and earthiness, all of which come together on a brooding yet harmonious frame. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2013. This is an especially successful set of new releases from Michele Chiarlo. The Barolos and Barbarescos are particularly of note, as they have never been more refined.
