Bringing robust notes of dried fruit, tobacco and some scorched earth, followed by dried cherries, figs and camphor ash, the 2015 Ca'Linverno packs the kind of yee-haw you're looking for in any pairing with Texas barbecue. This is a broad-shouldered wine that shows robust intensity throughout its 15.5% alcohol, mid-weight package. This is an IGT blend of 80% Corvina, 10% Rondinella, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Croatina. The fruit is left to air-dry for 30 days. Some 40,000 bottles were made, and you get terrific value here.
