The 2008 Vernaccia di San Gimignano Tradizionale shows off layers of expressive mint, flowers, orange zest and light honey, all of which come together on an attractive, textured frame. I must admit, this wine is a bit of a revelation in terms of what can be done with Vernaccia. Readers who enjoy white with a little bottle age will want to give this a try. Even better, the Tradizionale is a great value. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2014. This is a fascinating set of wines from Montenidoli.
