The purple-colored 2007 Morlanda Vi de Guarda is a blend of equal parts Garnacha and Carinena aged for 12 months in new French and American oak. Notes of balsam wood, lavender, blackberry, and black cherry compose the nose of this layered, concentrated wine. On the palate it is a bit one-dimensional but the flavors are tasty and 1-2 years of additional bottle aging could bring about some complexity.Importer: Freixenet USA; www.freixenetusa.com
