Pavilion Crossing has fashioned a terrific 2010 Merlot from that often unfairly maligned grape. This 4,000-case, 100% French oak-aged, dark ruby/purple-tinged cuvee exhibits abundant notes of coffee beans, white chocolate, black currant and cherry fruit. Round, generous, medium-bodied and elegant yet authoritatively flavored, this beauty is an amazing bargain. Drink it over the next 1-3 years. Winemaker Larry Levin continues to do a terrific job with wines from Pavilion Crossing.Tel. (707) 812-4443; Fax (707) 261-9400
