This shows toasty and spicy notes with dried strawberries, nut shell, dark spices and wild bergamot. Medium-bodied. Tannins are firm and a little chewy with very fine texture to them. It is delicate and reserved. Try after 2025.

Here's a bright and fruit-forward expression from Treiso, one of the most prolific villages in the Barbaresco appellation. The 2019 Barbaresco Marcarini is sharp and tight (compared to the other much-riper expressions in this portfolio). The wine shows bright aromas of wild berry and dried cherry, and there is a hint of fresh white pepper on the close.

The 2012 Barbaresco Marcarini opens to an inky dark appearance and ripe fruit tones of blackberry preserves and cherry confit. This is a hot-vintage Nebbiolo, and very little is subtle about these results. In the mouth, this wine delivers ample power and texture.

Starts fruity, boasting cherry and plum notes on a broad frame, with tobacco and eucalyptus accents matching the burly tannins underneath. Powerful, yet needs time to come together.
