The organic 2020 Rosso di Montalcino (with 40,000 bottles made) offers a bright bouquet with tart cherry, cassis and pretty floral tones of violet and lavender. The wine is simple and vibrant, showing a focus on the basics. Don't look for complexity here, but do count on a very fun and easy taste of Tuscany to pair with your favorite Italian foods.

Made with certified-organic fruit, the San Polo 2019 Rosso di Montalcino is light and silky with easy aromas of forest berry, wet stone and dried violet. The aromas are subtle and pure, and these are followed up with good power at the back, making it an ideal partner to a pasta dish with cream, peas and mushrooms. 43,600 bottles were produced.

The 2018 Rosso di Montalcino is a chiseled and fruit-driven wine that awakens and satisfies the palate. Although delicate and slender, the bouquet reveals fresh strawberry and blueberry aromas with light spice and potting soil. There is a fine touch of tannic structure that serves to hold the wine tightly together.

The 2016 Rosso di Montalcino is a robust and ripe expression with plenty of round and soft fruit. This is a well-made wine that benefits from excellent fruit from a classic vintage. The wine shows rich and saturated cherry and blackberry flavors with firm texture to match. Some 40,000 bottles were made and you get great value here.

The delightful 2013 Rosso di Montalcino opens to a soothing dark color and primary fruit aromas of bold berry and blackberry. The wine ages in oak tonneaux for one year to impart soft tones of spice, leather and toasted nut. The nose is compact and clean with a great sense of intensity that you normally don't find in Rosso di Montalcino. Sweet cherry wood and Spanish cedar seal the deal. This a great food wine, especially if paired with lamb or pork chops. There's a nice sense of energy here.
