An incredibly elegant Shiraz from the Barossa, this 1995 displays a character similar to a Northern Rhone or a Bordeaux blended with Syrah. It exhibits a dense ruby/blue/purple color to the rim as well as a subtle perfume of camphor, ground pepper, spring flowers, and black currants. Medium-bodied with good minerality, no evidence of oak, and a young, vibrant, long, pure finish, this was a major surprise in terms of its elegance and youthfulness. It should continue to drink well for another 5-8 years.
