Unlike the other wines in the District Collection series, Raymond's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon District Collection Rutherford comes largely from the winery's home estate. Mocha and cedar accent black cherries on the nose, while the full-bodied palate is framed by softly dusty tannins that give the wine focus and length on the finish.

A flashy Cabernet, marked by its complex structure. Although fully dry, it has wildly ripe, sweet flavors of black cherries and cassis, accented with caramelized oak. At the age of nearly five, it seems best now and over the next four years for sheer vitality.——S.H.(8/1/2011)—— 92
