A Crozes-Hermitage-like offering, the 2003 Syrah Truchard Vineyard exhibits smoky, herbaceous, garrigue notes intermixed with a Mediterranean sea breeze-scented character. Soft black currant and cherry fruit flavors are also found in this seductive, medium-bodied, distinctive effort, which only lacks that extra level of concentration.
