With a more forthcoming bouquet, this wine would have been outstanding. The wine's flavors, concentration, ripeness, and overall textural aspects suggest high class. The healthy, saturated dark ruby/purple color is followed by a reticent (or is it just closed?) nose. The uninspiring aromatic profile is deceptive given the explosive richness and ripeness exhibited by this wine. Impressively endowed, with voluptuous, sweet layers of fruit, this is a large-scaled, supple Barbera for drinking over the next 5-7 years. No known American importer.
