Very dark and concentrated, the 2012 Terras de Javier Rodríguez is pure Tempranillo with aromas of peat and graphite, all things black, spices and fruit. The palate is full-bodied in a style of yesteryear, with wide shoulders, plenty of tannins and some rusticity. It has a particular style that might not please everyone, but would make its fans go crazy. 10,000 bottles.

The 2011 Terras de Javier Rodriguez is pure Tempranillo from three separate plots on stone and clay soils fermented in oak vats. It has an oaky and creamy character with very ripe fruit aromas and notes of spices and smoke. The palate is medium-bodied with plenty of tannins from the barrels, giving it a grainy, slightly drying sensation and a bitter finish. This might need time. 6,600 bottles produced. Drink 2015-2019. The 2007 Terras de Javier Rodriguez is 100% Tinta de Toro sourced from 50-year-old vines that went through malolactic fermentation and 12 months of aging in French oak. It is a dense, layered effort packed with black fruits and enough structure to evolve for another 4-6 years.
