The un-oaked Rosa del Golfo 2016 Primitivo delivers plump and ripe fruit flavors with dark plum and black cherry preserves. These are bright, full flavors to enjoy with a stuffed eggplant dish. The main focus here is the purity and simplicity of the primary fruit, and although you do get some plummy sweetness, this vintage feels a little more compact and linear overall. Some 40,000 bottles were made, and you get good value here.
