The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon La Mandria del Pari emerges from the glass with an exotic melange of dark cherries, plums, menthol, anise and licorice. All of the elements are woven together beautifully in this delicate, refined jewel of a wine. Russo gave the Mandria del Pari two years in French oak barrels. This is yet another impressive showing from Russo. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2020. These are the finest wines I have ever tasted from Russo. The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon La Mandria del Pari is made from the estate’s top Cabernet Sauvignon. Super-ripe red fruit, flowers and spices take shape in the glass in this extroverted, sleek wine. Russo’s 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon La Mandria del Pari has retained excellent textural richness, but the aromatics are continuing to develop.
