The 2009 Barrica is composed of 50% Garnacha, 30% Tempranillo, and 20% Carinena aged in French and American oak for 5 months. More marked by its oak than the preceding wines, it nevertheless is a tasty wine that offers just a bit less pleasure than those wines. Bodega San Jose de Aguaron is a large cooperative in the DO of Carinena that controls approximately 1200 hectares with 60% of the vines consisting of Garnacha, 70% of them over 50 years of age. All of their Carinena holdings are bush vines over 45 years of age. Its main brand is labeled Monasterio de las Vinas.No known American importer
