The 2013 Brunello di Montalcino Bramante is more of an extravert in a vintage that has generally delivered subdued and understated wines. The quality of fruit delivered by this wine is darker, more textured and heavier in terms of mouthfeel. You are awarded a generous bouquet that is redolent of dark fruit and ripe cherry. The wine is mild in terms of mouthfeel, but it delivers the correct array of Sangiovese aromas that you can expect of this historic appellation.

This is a masculine and powerful expression of Brunello with tight tannins, dark concentration and savory aromas of dark fruit, prune, leather, pipe tobacco and bitter chocolate. That characteristic acidity kicks in at the end and gives the wine a burst of levity. — (5/1/2013) —90

Spice, toast and black fruit drive the nose of this plush and ripe Brunello di Montalcino. There are loads of cherry, clove and eucalyptus-like aromas at the back that give the wine a more youthful and fresh impact and fresh acidity seals the deal.
