The 2018 Chardonnay Home Ranch has a nose of golden apples, pears, baker's yeast and light honey-nut touches. It's light-bodied and fresh with good concentration, finishing on a yeasty note. 5,386 cases produced.

For starters, there are four Chardonnays, which include the 2014 Chardonnay Home Ranch – a terrific value in Chardonnay that is barrel-fermented in about 30% French oak and aged 10 months prior to bottling. The wine reveals discrete oak, caramelized citrus, a touch of honey and has an attractive, light gold color with a greenish hue. It is medium-bodied and exhibits a gravelly minerality. Drink it over the next several years.

Sbragia displays a Midas touch with Chardonnay, and the 2013 Chardonnay Home Ranch is a big-time winner. Aged in 50% new oak and 50% older oak, it exhibits buttery crème br?lée and tangerine oil notes intermixed with honeysuckle and pineapple. Medium to full-bodied and luscious, with admirable fruit intensity as well as a long, textured, luscious finish, it can be drunk over the next 2-3 years. This is also a stunning value for a Chardonnay of this quality.

Even better, the 2012 Chardonnay Home Ranch’s alcohol came in a full degree higher than the 2011's, and the wine hits the palate with a much larger tactile impression. The 2011 Chardonnay Home Ranch showcases Ed Sbragia’s Midas touch with this varietal.
