The 1985 Chianti Rufina Riserva, a recent library release, flows with the essence of crushed flowers, dried cherries, spices, tobacco and cedar. The wine is quite understandably forward and delicate, yet shows gorgeous mid-palate sweetness and a long, textured finish. It is a fabulous choice for drinking now and over the next few years. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2015. Selvapiana is a reference point for fine, traditionally made Chiantis that can age beautifully.
