The 2007 Pinot Noir Lachini Vineyard adds a larger dose of spice to the mix of tasty red fruits. This savory, balanced effort could use a bit more concentration but will provide pleasure over the next 6 years. Owner/winemaker Peter Rosback presides at Sineann. Sleek and spicy, the Lachini Vineyard bottling from Sineann seems to reflect the difficulties of the ’07 vintage a bit more than some of the others. It’s well made and approachable, but it seems slightly dilute; it does not have the sweet meaty character of previous vintages. The 2006 Pinot Noir Lachini Vineyard is medium ruby-colored with a nose of spice box, wood smoke, cherry, and raspberry. This leads to a plump, layered, savory wine with excellent concentration and depth. The finish is silky and fruit-filled. Drink it over the next five years.
