A stinky, earthy nose of decaying vegetables and roasted herbs blew off as the wine sat in the glass to reveal a past-its-prime, soft, round Cabernet exhibiting hints of herbs, sweet cherries, and dusty, loamy soil. I drank a lot of this cuvee early in its life, and it seemed to hold up nicely for 12-15 years, but this bottle (the last one from my cellar) is over the hill.
