The 2009 Mourvedre Heart of the Hill Vineyard was aged in seasoned French oak for 15 months before bottling without fining or filtration. It is a straightforward offering with aromas of brier, underbrush, plum, and blueberry. In the glass it displays savory fruit and a bit of structure but the wine is in need of complexity. Drink it over the next 4-5 years.
