The 2019 Chardonnay is ripe in the glass with stone fruit aromas, sweet citrus and pomaceous characters that sway with elements of lees and wet rocks. Medium-bodied, the palate is fresh and cheerful with elements of candied citrus and peach ring notes before moving to a bright, crisp finish. This drinks well for the price.

The 2016 Chardonnay from Tamarack Cellars is a juicy, refreshing Chardonnay that has lively notes of citrus and mint in its medium-bodied, straightforward, yet balanced and enjoyable style.

The 2015 Chardonnay from Tamarack Cellars offers lots of juicy apple and citrus blossom in a medium-bodied, clean, crisp and deliciously quaffable package. It’s best enjoyed in its youth.

The only white I was able to taste was the straightforward, easygoing 2011 Chardonnay (100% Chardonnay), which offers plenty of apple, cream and mineral notes as well as a medium-bodied, fresh, well-made personality. It should be consumed over the coming year or so. Drink now-2015. Located in Walla Walla and founded in 1998 by Ron and Jamie Colman, with the wines now made by Danny Gordon, this first-rate estate fashions classic, age-worthy wines that over deliver for the price. While I tasted the majority of the bottled wines in Colorado, all of the reserve efforts were tasted from barrel during my visit to the winery.
