This is one of the flagship wines from Sicily's Tasca family. The Tasca Conti d'Almerita 2017 Sicilia Cabernet Sauvignon Tenuta Regaleali Vigna San Francesco shows terrific results in this hot vintage. The Cabernet Sauvignon grape is up to the challenge, and it successfully channels all that extra ripeness and intensity into the rich fiber and lasting mouthfeel of this hearty red wine. Most importantly, it remains balanced with plenty of variety-driven aromas of blackberry, rosemary and toasted spice.

Opening to a thick and impenetrable appearance, the 2016 Sicilia Cabernet Sauvignon Tenuta Regaleali Vigna San Francesco is a velvety and seductive wine that glides over the palate with elegance and power. Blackberry, plum and dark prune segue to spice, tobacco and tar. There is a touch of rosemary essence, but basically this well-ripened Cabernet Sauvignon doesn't register the distracting vegetal or pyrazine aromas that past (distant past) editions have shown. In fact, there is a touch of warm-vintage sweetness on the close. Some 30,000 bottles were made.
