Tenuta Cavalier Pepe‘s 2019 Fiano di Avellino Refiano offers a classic approach to this versatile grape, revealing orchard fruit, pear and plenty of delicate mineral nuances. The effect is balanced and pure, especially thanks to the cool altitudes (from 450 to 500 meters above sea level) where these 20-year-old vines are located.

The 2015 Fiano di Avellino Refiano is a dry and mineral-driven white wine. Aromas of flint and brimstone segue to chalk and talc powder. That's the first impression the wine gives. But sit back for a few brief moments and fruity tones of peach, pear and papaya begin to lift from the bouquet. In fact, the segue from crushed stone to full out yellow fruit is surprisingly seamless and smooth.

Well-cut acidity and a chalky edge lend a fine frame to the poached pear and almond skin flavors, revealing aromatic notes of geranium, ground spice, honey and verbena. Offers a clean, stony finish.
