The Tenuta di Fessina 2021 Etna Rosato Erse (a blend of 80% Nerello Mascalese and 20% Nerello Cappuccio) shows a beautiful color that is somewhere between gold, amber and shiny pink. The bouquet reveals grapefruit, peach and yellow rose, and the palate offers a lean mouthfeel with lasting freshness. This rosé sees a brief three hours of skin contact, and fruit is sourced from the perimeter of the Contrada Moscamento. This is a 3,300-bottle release.

The Tenuta di Fessina 2019 Etna Bianco Erse is an entry-level expression of Carricante (and small percentages of Catarratto and Minnella) with a fresh and linear approach that drives this pretty wine clean over the palate. It imparts layers of white peach, crispy apple and honeydew melon. Salty mineral notes also come into view, making this a great bottle to enjoy with a fritto misto. About 10,000 bottles were released.

This is a terrific wine that I drank (and drank it I did) after a long day of tasting mostly red wines from Etna. My palate was tired, but the 2018 Etna Bianco Erse happily whipped me back into shape thanks to its beautifully tonic acidity and the purity of the bouquet. The 12% alcohol felt mild and food-friendly, and the nose bloomed with white flowers and almond blossoms. The wine ends with mineral notes and tartness. This wine comes together very nicely. The blend is 90% Carricante with 10% Catarratto and Minnella. Some 16,000 bottles were made.
