Compared to the Carta Bianca edition that is a blend of more grapes, the 2017 Frascati Saula Carta Nera (packaged in the black label) sees 70% Malvasia del Lazio together with 30% Bombino. You get a little more sharpness here, with a hair more definition and depth. This wine is more complete and tighter at its core, suggesting a food pairing with melted cheese, such as pizza al forno or basic pasta. Some 15,000 bottles were released.
