The Tenuta Luisa 2017 Friuli Isonzo Friulano Collezione I Ferretti shows some of the ripeness and fruity softness that you would associate with a hot vintage such as this. The wine opens to apricot, poached pear and sweet apple. This special selection of Friulano is creamy and beautifully textured, with lots of fruity intensity on the close.

The oak-aged 2012 Friuli Isonzo Friulano Collezione I Ferretti is a thickly constructed and slightly heavy wine. The bouquet opens slowly to lazy aromas of honey, pressed flower and candied apricot. The wine shows signs of its aging evolution and seems perfectly on track at this stage in its drinking window. I wouldn't suggest waiting too much longer. This is a full bodied Italian white that will pair with elaborate fish dishes or white meat with spicy curry flavors.

The 2011 Friuli Isonzo Friulano Collezione I Ferretti delivers graphite notes of smoke and ash followed by stone fruit and pair. The must is cold soaked on the skins for 24 hours and fermented in both oak (30%) and stainless steel before resting on the lees for up to eight months. Grapes are harvested from 40-year-old vines with extremely low yields of approximately one kilogram of fruit per plant. Drink: 2014-2017.
