The 2004 Gleisweiler Holle Riesling Spatlese trocken “Bundsandstein” A.P. #16 comes from a parcel with a sandstone underpinning reminiscent of many of the top sites further north in the Mittelhaardt. The dominant aromas and flavors are of pit fruits. The acids are less bright, and the texture is mealier and less creamy than in the A.P. #15. The finish is overtly stony, salty, nutty, in short, capital “M” mineral, but satisfyingly long. Importer: Terry Theise Estate Selections, imported by Michael Skurnik Wines, Inc., Syosset, NY; tel.
