The 2015 Valtellina Superiore is a delicate and refined expression with a fluttering of fast-paced aromas that resemble cassis, rose, violet and toasted anise seed. The wine is super lightweight on the palate, but it is lively too, leaving absolutely no traces of any residual heaviness. It wraps over the palate like silk sheets. This vintage is very open and accessible.

The 2011 Valtellina Superiore is a smooth and silky wine with a delicate aromatic embroidery that ties it together. It reveals rose petal, resin, tar, licorice and crushed granite. Those perfumes are extremely well balanced and integrated. One aroma fuses seamlessly with the next. The mouthfeel shows a higher degree of red fruit, plumpness and softness. This elegant wine would make a great pairing partner to white meat or roasted game hen. The wine sees 80% botte grande and 20% barrique.
