The 2008 M2 is 100% Monastrell from Alicante, further south than Valencia, hence a warmer climate. It is a riper version with mineral and earth notes, soft, sweet tannins, plenty of pepper and spice, good depth of flavor, and a lengthy, fruit-filled finish. The 2007 M2 is sourced from the warm climate D.O. of Alicante. Dark ruby-colored, it offers an expressive perfume of damp earth, mulberry, blackberry, and mineral. In a nutshell, its purpose is to focus on individual grape varietiesand their expressions in a range of terroirs. The 2006 M2 is from Alicante. Purple in color, it has an excellent bouquet of mineral, licorice, blueberry and blackberry. Supple, sweet, and concentrated, this tasty wine may evolve for 1-2 years but can be enjoyed now. Vinos Sin-Ley’s M Series features the Monastrell grape which flourishes in the warmer, drier D.O.s. As with the G Series, the wines are all raised in stainless steel to better preserve the fruit.

The M Series wines are all 100% Monastrell aged in stainless steel. The 2005 M2/Monastrell is too green and compact to recommend. The name Vinos Sin-Ley means “wines without laws.” According to importer Patrick Mata, these cuvees are produced by an array of serious winemakers who wish to have their own personal projects apart from those of their employers and to not be bound by the various D.O. regulations. The G Series wines are composed of 100% Garnacha while the new M Series wines are 100% Monastrell. The Zestos wines are blends. They are reviewed in the order they were presented.
