The 2006 Black Tongue Syrah was sourced predominantly from the Dineen Vineyard and aged in 30% new oak. A glass-coating opaque purple color, it offers up an earthy, mushroom, and underbrush aromatic array along with a hint of bacon and blueberry. Succulent on the palate, this fleshy, ripe wine can be enjoyed now with decanting but will profit from 2-3 years of additional cellaring.
Located in Woodinville (along with 41 other wineries), Tim Stevens’ first vintage was 2001 with current production at 2500 cases. Stevens works exclusively with Yakima Valley fruit from Sheridan, Meek, DuBrul, and Dineen vineyards.
