Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2009 Shiraz offers earthy / meaty notes of damp loam, duck breast and smoky bacon over a black fruit core of blackberry preserves, warm black cherries and dried plums plus a dash of pepper. Full bodied with a medium to high level of rounded tannins, the concentrated black berry flavors are enlivened with crisp acid. It finished long and savory. Drinking now, it should keep though 2015. Flametree does not currently have a USA importer but exports to the UK, HK, China, Indonesia, Fiji and Sweden.
