Readers with patience may have experienced the grandeur of a well-aged bottle from Jean-Marc Joblot. His 1990s, for example, at 14 years of age, are singing. In my estimation, the 2002 Givry Clos du Cellier aux Moines will evolve gloriously. Its deep, plummy black cherry scents lead to a medium-bodied personality packed with candied dark fruits. Pure, satin-textured, and peppery, this wine reveals loads of ripe tannin in its structure. Its lengthy finish exhibits a trait I love, a parting kirsch-like kiss of sappy fruit. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2016.
