The 2009 Calico White is a multi-regional blend of 42% Roussanne, 33% Viognier, 17% Chardonnay, and 8% Marsanne aged 50% in barrel and 50% in stainless steel. It exhibits a fragrant bouquet of spring flowers, citrus, melon, and baking spices. On the palate it is a tiny bit off-dry with residual sugar right at the threshold of perception. Well-balanced, vibrant, and savory on the palate, it will provide pleasure over the next 1-2 years. Annette Bergevin and Amber Lane continue to turn out excellent wines at very fair prices from their Walla Walla-based winery.Tel. (509) 526-4300; www.bergevinlane.com
