The NV Brut Nature Grand Cru Mailly is 90% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay. The wine reveals a more full-bodied, dense personality than the Brut Reserve, with notes of dried apricots, pears, honey, licorice and smoke. Although the wine possesses a rich, creamy style that is quite attractive, it doesn't quite have the wiry minerality of the Brut Reserve. This bottle was disgorged August 2nd, 2008. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2010. Boulard is a small producer with holdings across a number of villages. The wines are made in a natural, non-interventionalist style, both in the vineyards and in the cellar.
