Big, rich and heavy in its youth, this Pinot has a Rhone-like feeling; its cherry and currant flavors suggest Grenache. Yet for that style, it’s a good wine, showing cherry, currant and pine cone flavors that lend interest. A smoky grilled steak or pork will negociate its tannins, but you might want to age it for up to eight years.——S.H.(8/1/2008)—— 91
